I imagine it is very difficult to understand the ensembles for marriage, since wedding musicians tend to “group themselves” in atypical forms compared to how we know the sector in everyday life, online or on TV.
Why the depopulation of Duo and Trio ? For a very simple reason, in marriage these are winning formations in terms of volume and are certainly less invasive from the point of view of sounds. In small formations you have better control of the event, as there are fewer players and the sound systems are smaller. After all, a wedding is not a concert where music is the center of everything, it is simply a party with music. For this reason the planning of the places to play and the choice of formation are important.
But never reduce the staff too much, going on the “one man band” character, DJ or piano bar for the whole party can create an impoverishment and flattening of the party. This is why we do not offer stand alone musicians, in short, who play in the formation of a single musician for the whole day.
What lineups are there in a duo or trio? There are many choices online, but not all of them have really interesting tools. What do I mean by interesting? I’ll just give some examples: an accordion, a violin, a cello, a clarinet and many others. These are interesting instruments, because with these you can play at a ceremony but also at the reception. The most particular duo we have, as a choice of instruments, is certainly that of I Capricciosi or the Duo Blues with the harmonica by Davide Tassi.
The duo formations are very functional, however they are characterized by a slight instrumental impoverishment in the arrangement of the songs, the voices on the contrary stand out and are very much the center of attention. If your taste is towards the modern or the exact opposite towards the classics, the duo can certainly satisfy you. In a trio we have an extra instrument and usually the 3-player formation “specializes” on a particular genre, such as jazz swing or soul. The jazz trio is in fact very popular, as a genre for an elegant background is ideal. Our very special trio proposal is that of Three Little Bops .
A band of 4-5 elements is a completely different choice. If you want to recreate a “club” or concert hall environment it may be the right choice, but the location must allow it. Surely it is to be limited to outdoor for appetizers and for the open bar. For example we have a 4-piece band that can downgrade as a duo, Zona Rossa . A group almost always has the battery, which is more difficult to control the volumes of.
Finally, the Dj Set , a must for dancing at the end of the evening. The group of 4-5 elements can take his place, while duo and trio certainly cannot match him. The DJ set for a wedding that ends at night is almost always necessary.
